The Toni Morrison Papers (C1491), housed in Firestone Library, is one of our most requested collections. Every year, researchers from all over the world and all over campus come to the reading room on C-floor to view draft copies of Beloved, letters from Toni Cade Bambara, and other artifacts related to the life and work of 20th-century American author Toni Morrison.
This collection (like all items held in Special Collections available for research use) is open to the public, but to help folks discover and access these materials, we’re happy to announce the Toni Morrison Digital Portal.
Here, you’ll find instructions on how anybody can access the Toni Morrison Papers held in the Special Collections department of Princeton University’s Firestone Library; information on the spring 2023 exhibition Toni Morrison: Sites of Memory; instructions on visiting Princeton University, including with a group; a complete bibliography of Morrison’s published works; content designed for young audiences; a list of Morrison-centered events taking place around Princeton; and more.
We hope you explore, are inspired, and come visit us in the reading room!
